Pioneers in Virtual Animal Care

Committed to Connecting the

Veterinary Community

Mission of Excellence

Our mission is to deliver digital solutions to veterinary healthcare practitioners to improve worldwide accessibility and standards of care for animal health and wellness.

Our Story

After her residency, Apryle Horbal opened an Animal and Equine Emergency and Specialty Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA, where she used her extensive veterinary knowledge and experience to improve the health and well-being of animals in their care.

In 2019, when confronted with the shortage of veterinary specialists (including surrounding areas and major universities) and the lack of new veterinarians entering large animal practices, Dr. Horbal sought technology solutions to streamline veterinary care and bring collaboration to the veterinary community.

…and VetNOW was born.

Dr. Horbal’s hospital served as the proving ground for the development of the VetNOW Virtual Care initiative, perfecting clinical workflows and implementation in a busy, real-life veterinary hospital while setting and maintaining the highest of clinical standards.

VetNOW’s partnership with industry leaders in veterinary care has validated its technology solutions, with Texas A&M University delivering care across rural Texas and Iowa State University offering food animal care in the Midwest. The Smithsonian’s National Zoo & Conservation Biology Institute uses its technology to care for Africa’s remote mountain gorillas.

Thanks to this innovative approach to animal care, care professionals, merchants, pharmacies, clinics, patients, and other veterinary stakeholders now have convenient, rapid access to each other so they can collaborate on the solutions they need to take care of their animals.
